Founder and Director
Dr. Olivia James is based in sunny Brisbane, Australia (a sub-tropical paradise). An equine veterinarian since 2003, she sold her equine veterinary practice in 2018 to support her husband's career with an interstate move. With a young family and suddenly more time on her hands, she threw herself into finishing an advanced standing residency in veterinary equine dentistry with AVDC.
In 2019 she volunteered with Animal Aid Abroad in Indonesia to provide outreach veterinary services in the Gili Islands. From here the idea was sparked to put together online equine dentistry education material to enable those who found it difficult or impossible to travel (initially just to help the vets in Indonesia who were super keen to learn!), to still get the education they desired. Thus The Veterinary Dental Company was created, something that has been dearly loved by the hordes of veterinarians from more than 18 countries around the world.
As an avid personal development fan, Olivia spent 18 months (and a whole pile of money!) undertaking an immersive personal development course with Tony Robbin's Platinum Partners. Here she was exposed to other people who were at the top of their industries, came to deeply understand human nature, and went full throttle into business education. Olivia believes we each have a true calling in life, and she is so blessed to be able to live her life by design and be able to support and contribute to the lives of her colleagues in our small veterinary community. Dr. James is also Director of Australian Veterinary Equine Dentistry (established in 2017). She sees referral dentistry and oral surgery cases from Veterinarians in Australia, NZ and Asia and is a diplomate with the American Veterinary Dental College since 2022.
The Equine Practice was born to contribute to the lives of her colleagues around the globe. Having instant access to succinct, high quality CE right at the point where it is needed most is something she would have loved as a practicing vet. Up until now this hasn't existed, and will the collaboration of an amazing group of like-minded veterinarians who believe in the power of contribution, this is going to change the face of veterinary education.

Kristie Morris was smitten by horses early but didn’t start riding until 12 yrs old. She bought her first horse when 15 and as a young adult she started a long, enjoyable and productive relationship with the Walker family of Marena Stud. This has given Kristie both great pleasure and an increased knowledge of all aspects of a working stud, riding academy and high level competition. She worked for the Walker family for 18yrs until their retirement and stud sale. While working on the stud, Kristie met Dr Jennifer Stewart who she would later work with in veterinary clinical nutrition for 8yrs.
A qualified equine vet nurse, Kristie also completed a Diploma of agriculture, majoring in animal nutrition through the University of New England, NSW. Kristie shares Dr Olivia’s love of veterinary science, education and personal growth which led a natural progression to working together today. Her passion for veterinarians’ wellbeing and the industry is a basis for all she is involved in, and she enjoys attending equine vet conferences and seminars wherever possible.
Kristie and her family run a small farm on the mid coast NSW where they have just started breeding Belted Galloway cattle, Suffolk sheep and a hefty vegetable garden!
